  • Facility energy simulations, analysis & evaluation for the Grand Canyon Trust (Flagstaff, AZ).
  • Water resources forecasting in the Upper Gila – Mangas (NM) watersheds for the Iron Knot Ranch (NM).
  • National Tribal Water Council (NTWC) Technical Advisory Council (TAC) – through Northern Arizona University’s Institute for Tribal Environmental Professionals (ITEP).
  • Applications of the integrated hydrologic and hydraulic MIKE SHE / HYDRO numerical model for the 130 square mile main stem Rio de Flag watershed, which encompasses all of Flagstaff.  This included: flood study of major drainage infrastructure for Rio De Flag in the Continental Area and downstream, and, simulation of Low Impact Development (LID) and detention practices in future development areas, and future downtown development (impervious area increases) on downtown flooding. Initial model development (2015-2016) was funded by FEMA and the City of Flagstaff.
  • Continued service on the Technical Review Committee (TRC), in support of Colorado River area Tribes (Fort Mojave Indian Tribe, the Colorado River Indian Tribes, Cocopah Tribe, Chemehuevi Tribe, and the Hualapai Tribe), for hexavalent-chromium groundwater contamination remediation at the Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) Topock Gas Compressor Station, south of Needles, California (2011-2016).
  • Support for water-related litigation and negotiation.

2013-2016 PROJECTS

  • Navajo Generating StationStakeholder engagement and development of a pollution control strategy for the Navajo Generating Station at Page, Arizona – for Salt River Project.
  • City of Flagstaff Water and Sewer Impact Analyses (WSIA) for proposed private development using Bentley Watergems and Sewercad software, along with Civil 3D and ArcGIS Software.
  • Rio de Flag Integrated GIS-based hydrologic and hydraulic distributed DHI MIKE SHE / MIKE 11 model and flood studies, with consideration for post-fire flooding for the City of Flagstaff (City- and FEMA-funded).
  • State Route 202 South Mountain Freeway project utilities engineering and Developer proposal review support to HDR and ADOT ($1.8B est. construction costs).
  • Water System Model for Sipaulovi Village using Bentley Watergems software (standalone, Civil 3D- and ArcGIS-integrated models, and an EPANET model), inclusive of field system performance testing (pro-bono).
  • Hualapai Diamond Creek Road and BNSF Railway Crossing LiDAR Survey for Hualapai Nation and NAU Civil Engineering Capstone students (pro-bono).
  • Civil engineering design and survey for Sipaulovi Development Corporation’s 4-acre Marketplace at Second Mesa, Arizona (Hopi reservation) (Sub-consultant to Springer Group (Architect); with Plateau Engineering).

  • Research for a utility-scale wind- energy ordinance and Dry Lake Phase II Wind Facility permit review for Navajo County.
  • Wind TurbineSite assessment of PCE contamination in soil and groundwater in Norwood, Ohio for IBEW.
  • Atmospheric dispersion, deposition and population exposure analyses of dioxin emissions from the Monsanto Company, Nitro, West Virginia for Carpenter Environmental Associates.
